It wasn’t just the name that changed in 2023. Ticket prices became more affordable, allowing people to build their own package and opening the event to a wider audience. Dual talks returned to the conference, giving people the chance to choose the topics that mattered most to them, and the expo was bigger and better than ever.
Some things of course, stayed the same. We still attracted craft brewers, beer enthusiasts and homebrewers from around the continent. We still partnered with the African Beer Cup to showcase the very best beers in Africa. And of course, we still had a jam-packed schedule with epic speakers including UK beer writer Melissa Cole, MD of Rwanda’s first microbrewery Jessi Flynn and of course, world famous brewer and beer author, Sam Calagione.
