About BeerEx and what to expect

Launched in 2016, BeerEx Africa (formerly the Craft Brewers Powwow) was established to help boost South Africa’s burgeoning beer culture. Today, BeerEx Africa is the biggest beer expo and conference on the continent.

Conference

The main conference is aimed at professional brewers, avid homebrewers and serious beer aficionados, with a range of technical talks, inspirational seminars and hands-on tasting sessions from global beer leaders. Past presenters including Sam Calagione, Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo, Garrett Oliver and Matt Brynildson.

Expo

With interactive demos, free interactive talks on the expo floor and a wide range of exhibitors, the expo holds something for beer lovers and brewers alike. Expect industry innovations, the very best brewing ingredients, homebrewing workshops, packaging and pouring demos, meet the brewer moments and of course, plenty of beer tastings.

Networking

Grab a beer on the expo floor and meet suppliers, brewers and beer lovers from around the world. Chat with new clients in the BeerEx beer garden, meet the brewers of tomorrow at our dedicated homebrewer station, take time out in our pause lounge or join in one of our side events as a way to expand your beer and brewing network.

Beer Appreciation

Kick back and enjoy world class, locally brewed beer at our evening events, including beer launches and beer and food pairing dinners hosted at nearby breweries. The grand finale of BeerEx Africa is the African Beer Cup awards party, where all the winners in Africa’s biggest beer competition are crowned in an evening full of celebration and great beer.
